At Careers in Color (CIC) representation matters. Students of color need opportunities to engage with professionals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures that represent them; thereby directly shaping how students view themselves and explore career options. At the same time, positive representation of professionals of color helps to combat systemic stereotypes that are detrimental in our society that is often internalized.  Access to these professionals also benefits schools where the teachers are predominantly white and have limited social circles that include professionals of color.

Careers In Color seeks to work with institutions to cultivate inclusion and equity around career/ vocational education with a culturally responsive approach to teaching and engagement to benefit all students. Integral to our vision is CIC as a bridge builder, to support institutions to celebrate and respect the diverse backgrounds of their students, while encouraging acceptance so all students can thrive in a 21st century world.
